I have continued to be very busy, (hence this update being written in July instead of June!)

The works at Lyng got into full swing: the first floor bathroom has been completed, with new bath, shower, shower panels, fitted furniture, sink, toilet, large mirror and new bathroom door. The kitchen and dining room have been plastered and coved. A Buildbase kitchen has been delivered. Larder, base and wall units have been fitted, complete with doors, handles,cornice, pelmet, oven and fridge freezer. Base units and island have been templated for new stone worktops.

Other works completed elsewhere include building a studwork and shiplap boarding bicycle/fishing rod store for a client in Wroxham

I have also been working to form a cloakroom for a downstairs toilet at a property on Lovelace Road, NR4.

Meanwhile, the wife continues to wait (not terribly patiently!) for those little jobs I need todo at home!

The end of April and early part of May has been pretty full-on, as the main building works began at Lyng. The front bedroom en suite is now complete, with new toilet, sink unit, large shower enclosure, lights, extractor fan, and flooring:- just the decorating outstanding.
The existing first floor bathroom has been completely ripped out. New wiring has been installed and it has been plastered, with the new bathroom being fitted this week.
Major works have started on the kitchen and dining room: the existing wall between the two has been removed, and a large RSJ installed. The wiring, alterations and plumbing for the new layout have been completed. The walls, ceilings and beam have been plasterboarded ready for plastering.

March was full-on: I completed a garage conversion in Great Moulton, creating a utility room and additional storage space. The roof works to the turrets at St Catherine’s Church in Mile Cross have also been completed, and at Lyng the kitchen doorway has been blocked up and a new doorway cut through. The clients in Lyng have now got the beginnings of an en suite bathroom for their downstairs bedroom, formed by extending the original cloakroom and knocking a doorway through to the bedroom. After Easter the major work starts on their new kitchen/dining room, including upgrade to wiring, the en suite is being fitted, as well as a new upstairs bathroom.

Other work now lined up includes a ground floor extension in Sprowston, and assorted building works for a Norwich bathroom and kitchen company.

And then there are always the jobs the wife still has for me!

Business has been very brisk since the beginning of this year; perhaps an unusually busy January in fact!

I am now booked up until August. During the first 3 months of the year I have been working on the following, to mention just a few:-

• Conversion of garage at Little Plumstead into a utility room/storage space
• Another garage conversion in Thorpe St Andrew to create a home office
• Various building works for a Norwich bathroom company
• Carpentry on renovation project in Sea Palling (ongoing)

Lined up for April through July are the following projects:-

• Conversion of existing room into an en suite bathroom and major kitchen refit in Lyng.
• Garage conversion at Great Moulton
• Repairs to the roof at St Catherine’s Church in Mile Cross

And if I ever have a free day, there’s always my paperwork, or the wife can always find me a few jobs around the house!
